Our Promise: Bilingual & Biliterate

We want all students to graduate bilingual and biliterate. What does that mean? And why is it important?

Mastering more than one language is a tremendous advantage in today’s world.

Research shows language learning enhances memory, attention and creative thinking.

Employees with bilingual skills are in great demand and have the potential to earn more. Our bilingual and biliterate graduates will be at the front of the line for those high-demand jobs.

That's why one of our big strategic goals is for students to learn how to read, write, speak and listen in more than one language: students will graduate bilingual and biliterate.

How do we plan to reach our bilingual and biliterate goal? We are tracking several metrics:

  • Number of students earning the Seal of Biliteracy
  • Number of students participating in dual language programs
  • Number of secondary students enrolled in world language and heritage language courses
  • Number of elementary students enrolled in world language and heritage language programs

See how one dual language teacher is opening doors to endless opportunities for her students.
